Do you accept servers for recycling?

Yes — we take servers free, working or broken, any brand and any age. Bring them to Computer Recycling LLC at 125 E 10th Ave, North Kansas City, MO 64116. No appointment, no minimum quantity, no fee. We are open Monday to Friday 8am–3pm and Saturday 8am–2pm. Pull around to the back dock, ring the bell, and our crew comes out to unload for you — most drop-offs take under five minutes. Nothing is landfilled: working gear is refurbished for reuse and the rest is broken down for material recovery through R2v3 or e-Stewards certified partners. Larger volumes can be picked up instead.

Why this matters.

Server-room decommissioning is a logistics problem first and a recycling problem second. Computer Recycling LLC handles both — we coordinate scheduled pickups (multi-day if needed), palletize on-site, transport to our facility, sanitize drives to NIST 800-88, and provide serialized Certificates of Destruction.

Recent enterprise gear has resale value. Cisco switches and routers, Dell PowerEdge servers from the last 5 years, and current-gen UPS units typically qualify for our buyback program. We pay by check or ACH after receiving and inventorying the equipment. Send us a list and we’ll quote a value.

For full data-center decommissioning, we offer project management, asset reporting, and chain-of-custody documentation from your rack to final disposition. Schedule a Pickup (3+ gaylords) or call (816) 295-2334 to discuss.

Answers, plain & simple.

Do you pick up servers from data centers?

Yes. Free pickup within ~25 miles of ZIP 64116 for qualifying volumes (3+ gaylord boxes or equivalent rack-level volume). Larger projects outside that radius can usually be accommodated — call to discuss logistics.

Do you buy used Cisco switches and Dell servers?

Yes — recent enterprise gear typically has resale value. Send a list of make/model/quantity and we'll quote a buyback price. Learn about our buyback program.

Can you destroy server hard drives on-site?

Yes. On-site witnessed destruction is available for organizations where chain of custody can’t leave the building. Otherwise, all drives are NIST 800-88 sanitized at our facility with serialized certificates.

What about UPS batteries — do you take those?

Yes. UPS units (APC, Eaton, CyberPower) including the lead-acid batteries inside are recycled responsibly. We never landfill batteries.

Can you decommission an entire data center?

Yes. Full data-center decommissioning includes planning, scheduled multi-day pickups, palletizing, drive destruction with serialized certificates, equipment recycling, and complete chain-of-custody documentation.
