Every business engagement produces a serialized Certificate of Destruction — drive serial number, make/model, destruction method, and date. Three certificate types are available: Product Destruction (for the asset itself), Recycling Certificate (proof of responsible disposal), and Data Destruction (proof the data is gone). Together they satisfy regulator audits.

What standard do you follow for data destruction?
NIST Special Publication 800-88 Rev. 1 — the federal media sanitization standard. We apply the appropriate Clear, Purge, or Destroy level based on media type and client requirement.
Are your certificates HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Our serialized Certificates of Destruction satisfy HIPAA Security Rule §164.310(d)(2)(i) requirements. We also offer Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) on request for healthcare clients.
On-site or off-site destruction — which is right for me?
Off-site is the standard, lower-cost option with documented chain of custody. On-site is for organizations where data can’t leave the building — we bring destruction equipment to your site and you witness it. Learn more.
How long does it take?
Drop-offs are processed same-day. Scheduled pickups are typically completed within a few business days, with certificates emailed within a week. Urgent compliance deadlines can usually be expedited — call us.
How do you destroy SSDs differently from HDDs?
SSDs require either NIST 800-88 cryptographic erase plus block-level overwrite, or physical shredding to ensure NAND cell destruction. Plain overwriting alone isn't sufficient for SSDs, which is why we use the NIST 800-88 approach.
