How Buyback Works
1. Tell us what you have — model numbers, processor type, RAM, and quantity. Call, email, or fill out the form below.
2. We provide an estimate — based on current market rates for your specific configurations.
3. We pick up and verify — equipment is tested and graded at our facility. Final pricing is confirmed.
4. You get paid — payment is issued by check after remarketing. Servers without resale value are recycled free.
Secure Data Destruction for Server Drives
Servers present unique data destruction challenges compared to workstations. A single 2U rack server may contain 8, 12, or 24 drives in a RAID array, plus embedded flash storage on the RAID controller and motherboard. Our data destruction process accounts for every storage location.
For SAS and SATA spinning drives, we perform NIST 800-88 compliant multi-pass secure erasure. Each drive is individually verified and logged by serial number. For NVMe SSDs and enterprise SATA SSDs, we use cryptographic erase (Sanitize Block Erase) or physical destruction, depending on your security requirements and whether the drives will be remarketed.
RAID arrays are fully disassembled so every individual drive is sanitized independently. RAID controller cache memory is cleared. Embedded NAND on motherboards and controllers is addressed as part of our standard server processing. When physical destruction is required, drives are shredded or drilled on-site or at our facility, and Certificates of Destruction are issued per drive.
For organizations that need to witness destruction, we can perform on-site data destruction in your server room before transport. This is common for Kansas City healthcare, financial, and legal organizations with strict chain-of-custody requirements.
Data Center Decommissioning Services
Full-service data center decommissioning for Kansas City businesses moving to the cloud, consolidating facilities, or upgrading infrastructure.
Pre-Project Planning
We survey your server room or data center, inventory all equipment, and build a decommission plan with timelines, logistics, and cost estimates. A dedicated project manager is assigned for larger projects.
Rack Teardown
Our team dismounts servers, switches, patch panels, PDUs, and UPS units from racks. Equipment is labeled, inventoried by serial number, and securely packaged for transport.
Cable Management
Power cables, network cables, fiber runs, and cable management hardware are all removed and sorted. Copper cabling is recycled for materials value. We leave your space clean and ready for the next use.
On-Site Data Destruction
For sensitive environments, we perform data destruction in your server room before any equipment leaves the building. Drives can be wiped or physically destroyed on-site with witnessed verification.
Logistics & Transport
We handle all transportation with our own vehicles. Equipment is palletized, shrink-wrapped, and secured for transit. Chain of custody is maintained from your facility to ours.
Documentation Package
You receive a complete decommission report: serialized asset inventory, Certificates of Destruction, chain-of-custody records, and value recovery summary. Everything your compliance team needs in one package.
Rack Equipment We Also Accept
Recycling a server room means more than just servers. We take everything in the rack so you can clear the space completely.
PDUs & Power Strips
Rack-mount PDUs, smart PDUs, ATS units, and standard power strips. APC, Eaton, CyberPower, Raritan, ServerTech — all brands accepted.
UPS Battery Backups
Rack-mount and tower UPS systems. APC Smart-UPS, Eaton 5P/9PX, CyberPower, Liebert. Batteries are recycled separately through certified channels.
Network Switches & Routers
Top-of-rack switches, core routers, and management switches. Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, and more. See our networking recycling page for details.
Patch Panels & Cable Managers
Copper and fiber patch panels, horizontal and vertical cable managers, blanking panels, and rack shelves.
KVM Switches & Consoles
Rack-mount KVM switches, console drawers, and serial console servers. Raritan, Avocent, ATEN, and all other brands.
Rails, Bezels & Accessories
Server rails, drive caddies, bezels, riser cards, expansion modules, and rack hardware. Complete accessories increase buyback value for servers.

What server brands and models do you accept?+
We accept all server brands and models including Dell PowerEdge (R740, R750, R640, R650, R630, R620, T640, T440), HP ProLiant (DL380, DL360, DL580, ML350, ML110), Lenovo ThinkSystem (SR650, SR630, ST550), Supermicro, and Cisco UCS (C220, C240, B200 blade). How much are used servers worth for buyback?+
Server buyback value depends on the processor generation, RAM capacity, drive configuration, and overall condition. Current-generation servers with recent Xeon or EPYC processors and high RAM configurations can command significant buyback value. Older servers with end-of-life processors typically have minimal resale value but are always recycled free. Contact us with your model numbers for a specific quote.
How do you handle data on server hard drives?+
We follow NIST Special Publication 800-88 guidelines for all server drive sanitization. For SATA and SAS drives, we perform multi-pass secure erasure. For NVMe and SSD drives, we use cryptographic erase or physical destruction. RAID arrays are fully disassembled and each individual drive is sanitized. Certificates of Destruction are provided for every drive.
Can you decommission an entire data center or server room?+
Yes. We handle full data center decommissioning projects including rack teardown, cable management and removal, equipment inventory, on-site data destruction, logistics coordination, and transportation. We assign a project manager for large decommissions and work around your schedule to minimize downtime. Contact us to discuss your project scope.
