Who We Are

Computer Recycling LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is an electronics recycling and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) company located at 125 E 10th Ave, North Kansas City, MO 64116. We offer free electronics drop-off recycling, business pickups, certified data destruction and IT asset recovery, and we buy used computer memory and SSDs from sellers across the United States.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use and share it when you visit our website (www.computerrecyclingllc.com), chat with our AI assistants, call or text us, message us on WhatsApp, email us, or use our services.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, request a pickup or quote, sell equipment to us, or use our services, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, phone and mobile number, company name, job title, and mailing or pickup address.
• Pickup details, such as the items you're recycling, a preferred date, and any photos or documents you attach.
• When you sell memory or SSDs to us: what you have (types, capacities, part numbers, quantities and condition), photos of the equipment and its labels, where the equipment is located (ZIP code or city and state), and any price you choose to mention.
• Messages you send us by chat, email, text or WhatsApp.
• If we buy equipment from you, the details we need to pay you, such as a mailing address for a check or bank details for an ACH transfer. Please don't send bank details, card numbers or Social Security numbers in our website chats.
• Business service records, such as asset inventories and serial numbers we need for Certificates of Destruction and service documents.
• If you have a client or buyer portal account, your login details and account records.

Photos. When you upload a photo in our buying chat, we re-save it in a way that removes hidden information such as the GPS location and camera details stored in the file.

Your location. Our buying chat asks before using your device's location. If you tap "Share my location," we use it only to find the approximate area of your equipment (city, state and ZIP) so we can estimate pickup or shipping options. You can type a ZIP code instead. We also estimate a visitor's general area (city and region) from their IP address.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our analytics and advertising partners collect information such as:

• Your IP address, browser, device type, operating system, screen size, language and time zone.
• The pages you view, how long you stay, how far you scroll and what you click.
• The website or ad that sent you, including campaign tags and ad click IDs (for example from Google, Microsoft, Meta or TikTok).
• A device identifier created from your browser and device settings, plus cookies that recognize your browser when you come back.

If you submit a form or give your contact details in a chat, we may connect them to your earlier visits to our website. That way we know how you found us and what you were interested in.

Information from other sources. We may check a pickup address with an address-validation service, verify that an email address can receive mail, and receive reports from advertising platforms about how our ads perform.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Answer your questions and requests, and contact you about them by phone, text, WhatsApp or email.
• Schedule and complete pickups, drop-offs and services, and create Certificates of Destruction and other compliance documents.
• Review equipment you want to sell, prepare and send offers, arrange pickup or shipping, inspect what we receive, and pay you.
• Send service messages, such as confirmations, reminders, offers you asked for, invoices and certificates.
• Send marketing about our services, where allowed. You can opt out at any time.
• Understand how people use our website and which ads, searches and websites bring them to us, so we can improve the site and our advertising.
• Keep our website, chats and phone lines secure, and prevent spam, fraud and misuse.
• Meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, and protect our rights and our customers.

Chats with Our AI Assistants

Our website chat and our buying assistant, Henry, are AI assistants. They answer questions, help you describe your equipment and read the labels in photos you upload. To do that, your messages and photos are sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI), which processes them for us to generate replies. Henry may also look up public information about a part number online; that lookup does not include your personal information.

• Chats are saved. We keep chat transcripts, the photos you send, and the details you share so our team can review them, follow up, and improve our service. A person on our team may read your chat or join it.
• People make the decisions. Henry never quotes prices. A person on our purchasing team reviews every request and makes any offer.
• Your quotes on this device. Our buying chat sets a cookie so you can return to your own quotes on the same browser. We also email you a private link to your quote if you give us your email.
• Information is saved when you send it. We save what you type when you send a message or tap a button, not while you are still typing. If you give your name and mobile number but leave before finishing, our team may call or text you about that quote.

AI assistants can make mistakes. Please check important details with our team.

Phone Calls

Calls to and from Computer Recycling LLC may be answered or made by an AI voice assistant (currently provided by Retell AI) as well as by our staff. Calls may be recorded and transcribed. We keep recordings, transcripts and call summaries to help us handle your request, train our team, check quality, and keep records. If you'd rather not speak with the AI assistant or be recorded, tell us during the call or call back and ask for a person. We keep an internal do-not-call list, and you can ask to be added to it at any time.

Text Messages (SMS) and WhatsApp

If you give us your mobile number, for example in our buying chat ("Text me my offer"), on a form, or by texting us at (816) 838-6298, you agree that Computer Recycling LLC may call and text you at that number about your request. That includes your quote, offer, pickup, shipping and payment, including automated texts.

• Agreeing to texts is not a condition of selling to us or using our services.
• How often we text depends on your request. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop texts and HELP for help, or contact us at (816) 295-2334. After you opt out we may send one text to confirm it.
• We send marketing or promotional texts only if you separately agree to receive them.
• We do not share or sell your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share it only with service providers that help us deliver messages.
• Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

WhatsApp. If you choose "Continue on WhatsApp" or message us on WhatsApp, your conversation takes place on WhatsApp, a service of Meta. WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply to how WhatsApp handles your messages. We use your messages and the phone number and profile name WhatsApp shows us to respond and to match your conversation to your quote.

Email Communications

We may send you marketing emails about our electronics recycling and ITAD services. Every marketing email we send includes a clear and functional unsubscribe link. If you opt out, we will promptly remove you from our marketing email list. You may also contact us directly to request removal.

We will continue to send transactional or service-related emails (such as quote confirmations, offers, pickup confirmations, Certificates of Destruction, and invoices) as necessary to fulfill our services to you. Our emails may record when a message is opened or a link is clicked, so we know they're reaching people. When you reply to an email about a quote, your reply and any attachments are added to that quote.

Cookies, Advertising and Analytics

Our website uses cookies, pixels and similar technologies. They keep the site working (for example, keeping your quotes on your device), help us understand how visitors use it, and measure which ads bring us customers. We use:

• Our own analytics, which records visits, pages, clicks and how you found us, as described above. It does not run if your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
• Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram ads).
• Google Ads tags and conversion measurement.
• Microsoft Advertising (Bing) Universal Event Tracking.
• TikTok Pixel and Events API, when we advertise on TikTok.
• Clicky and Ahrefs web analytics.

Ad measurement. When you submit a form or a quote, we may send details about that action to our advertising partners (such as Meta, Google and TikTok), so they can tell us which ads work. That can include your email address, phone number and name, which are scrambled (hashed with SHA-256) before they are sent. It can also include the ad click ID, your IP address and browser information. These platforms may also use cookies and similar data to show you our ads on other websites and apps.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of our site, like returning to your quotes, may not work without them. You can also limit personalized ads in your account settings at Google, Meta, Microsoft and TikTok. Or use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. To ask us not to use your information for targeted advertising, contact us using the details below.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only as described here:

• Service providers that help us run our business and must protect your information. For example: website hosting and security, email (such as Google Workspace/Gmail and email-delivery services), AI providers (OpenAI for chat, Retell AI for phone calls), text messaging (Twilio), WhatsApp (Meta), mapping, address and location services (such as Google and OpenStreetMap), email verification, spam and bot protection, accounting software, and internal team notifications.
• Advertising and analytics partners, as described under Cookies, Advertising and Analytics. Some state laws treat this kind of advertising data as "sharing." See Your Choices and Rights.
• To provide what you ask for, for example with a shipping carrier when we send you a label or arrange a pickup.
• For legal reasons, if required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect our rights, our customers or others.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of our business, subject to this policy.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. That includes handling your request, keeping records of quotes, purchases, pickups, certificates and invoices, following up on repeat business, and meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements. Chat transcripts, photos, call recordings and quote records are kept as part of those records. When we no longer need information, or when you ask us to delete it and we're not required to keep it, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. As a company that specializes in certified data destruction, we understand the importance of information security. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

• Access, correct or delete. You can ask to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information we're required to keep by law or need to finish a transaction.
• Marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply STOP to texts, or ask us to stop calling.
• Targeted advertising. Ask us not to use your information for targeted advertising, and use the browser and ad-settings choices above.
• State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state's privacy law, such as getting a copy of your data or appealing our decision on your request. We will respond as your state's law requires and won't treat you differently for using these rights.
