Why host an event
People keep old computers, monitors and phones because getting rid of them takes a trip across town and a worry about their data. Give them one Saturday, one parking lot and a crew that unloads the car — and watch the line form. For your organization, it’s a feel-good community event that costs nothing.
How it works
You pick the Saturday and tell your people. We bring the truck, the crew, the sign and the muscle — and we leave your lot the way we found it.
Book online in about a minute. The form shows which Saturdays are still open — we hold one event per day — and you choose your start and end times.
Tell your employees, residents, members or neighbors. Fill in four blanks below and we’ll write the email, a printable flyer and a social post for you.
On the day, our crew parks the truck, sets up the drop-off line and unloads every car. Everything goes to our North Kansas City plant, where drives are wiped or shredded and the rest is recycled.
Event day
Here’s what a four-hour morning event looks like. You choose the actual start and end times when you book (between 8 AM and 5 PM).

Event or bins?
Have a parking lot and want a big one-day drive? Book an event. Office tower or lobby with no room for a truck? Collection bins sit inside for as many weekdays as you like.

Who it’s for
Businesses, retailers & office parks
HOAs, condos & apartment communities
Schools, churches & nonprofits
Property managers & shopping centers
What people can bring
Events take far more than a lobby bin can — desktops, monitors, printers and boxes of cables all ride home in our truck.
Free announcement kit
Events fill up when people hear about them early. Type your details and we’ll write the email, a printable flyer and a social post.

Common questions

Yes. There’s no charge to host a Saturday electronics recycling event at a business, school, church, HOA, apartment community or other organization in the Kansas City metro. Our crew brings the truck, unloads every car and recycles everything at no cost to you or the people who drop off.
An open Saturday (we hold one event per day, and never on Sundays), at least a week’s notice, and — this one is required — a parking lot with enough room for our 26-foot box truck to pull in, park and stay for the whole event.
You choose the start and end times when you book, anywhere between 8 AM and 5 PM. A four-hour morning, such as 8 to noon, is an easy place to start.
You decide: just your employees, your residents or members, or the whole neighborhood. Tell us your expected turnout when you book so we can plan.
Computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, monitors, printers, keyboards, cables, chargers, hard drives and most small electronics. We don’t accept CRT tube or plasma TVs, appliances or hazardous waste. For flat-screen TVs, ask us when you book. The full list of what we accept covers everything else.
Everything goes straight to our North Kansas City facility. Drives and phone storage are wiped to NIST 800-88 or physically shredded or drilled, and nothing goes to a landfill. More on our data destruction process.
Yes. Certificates of Recycling and Data Destruction are free for the host organization — just tick the ones you need when you book.
Book free collection bins instead: we drop them in your lobby, mailroom or office on a weekday and pick them up on the weekday you choose. See how collection bins work.

Ready when you are
You pick the date and tell your people. We bring the truck, unload every car and wipe every drive.
Computer Recycling LLC runs free Saturday electronics recycling events for businesses, HOAs, apartment communities, schools, churches, nonprofits and property managers across the Kansas City metro. You choose an open Saturday and the hours; our crew brings a 26-foot box truck to your parking lot, sets up a drive-up drop-off line, unloads every car and hauls everything to our facility at 125 E 10th Ave, North Kansas City, MO 64116. Every hard drive is wiped to NIST 800-88 or shredded, and nothing goes to a landfill.
Events need a parking lot with room for the truck to park for the whole event, and we hold one event per day. No lot? Our free collection bins sit in your lobby on weekdays instead. Businesses with a full office or data center to clear can book a business pickup, and anyone can drop off for free six days a week. Looking for other drives around town?
