iPads, Galaxy Tabs, Surface, Fire tablets, Chromebook tablets — all recycled free. Always free. No appointment needed.
Do you accept tablets for recycling?
Yes — we take tablets free, working or broken, any brand and any age. Bring them to Computer Recycling LLC at 125 E 10th Ave, North Kansas City, MO 64116. No appointment, no minimum quantity, no fee. We are open Monday to Friday 8am–3pm and Saturday 8am–2pm. Pull around to the back dock, ring the bell, and our crew comes out to unload for you — most drop-offs take under five minutes. Nothing is landfilled: working gear is refurbished for reuse and the rest is broken down for material recovery through R2v3 or e-Stewards certified partners. Larger volumes can be picked up instead.
Free for businesses, on request. Certificates of Destruction and asset reports are free for companies and organizations — just ask at pickup or drop-off.
The essentials
We accept every tablet: Apple iPad (all generations including iPad Pro, Air, Mini), Samsung Galaxy Tab, Microsoft Surface Go and Pro, Amazon Fire HD, Lenovo Tab, Google Pixel Tablet, and more. Keyboards, cases, styluses, and chargers welcome. Any condition.
Tablets contain large lithium-polymer batteries (often 8,000+ mAh), aluminum or glass housings, and dense circuit boards packed with precious metals. Their sealed design makes DIY battery removal dangerous. Professional recycling safely processes the batteries and recovers aluminum, glass, copper, gold, and rare earth elements.
iPads retain exceptional resale value — especially iPad Pro and iPad Air models from the last 3–4 years. Microsoft Surface Pro devices also command strong prices. Schools and businesses retiring tablet fleets should contact us for volume buyback pricing.

Schools and businesses often accumulate large quantities of outdated tablets that sit in storage closets for years. Whether you have a cart of 30 classroom iPads or a stack of company-issued Surface tablets, we make bulk recycling simple. For managed devices enrolled in Apple School Manager, Jamf, Intune, or Google Workspace, unenroll them from your MDM solution before drop-off so the devices can be properly wiped and potentially resold. If unenrollment is not possible, let us know and we will work with your IT team. Remove any protective cases and screen protectors that you want to keep, but leave them on if you do not need them back. We accept tablets with cracked screens, swollen batteries, and water damage — there is no condition too poor for recycling. Bulk drop-offs of 20 or more units may qualify for buyback even if individual devices would not.
